Jennie Berman Eng

Is the 2019 winner of the Jewish Plays Project for her play, A Moving Picture. Jennie was also named a 2017-2018 member of Playwrights Arena at Arena Stage, a 2016 and 2014 Theater J Locally Grown Playwright. Jennie was a founding member of the all-girl touring comedy group, The Greasy Girlz, and wrote and performed the web series, “JudyAlive!” and “Citizens Arrest”.

She founded the production company Greasy Pork Chop Productions in New York, where she directed her play, Family, Off-Broadway. Since moving to the DC Area 9 years ago, Jennie has worked with numerous theaters as a teaching artist and was a Helen Hayes Awards judge. She is currently a staff screenwriter at WILL Interactive. She also does copywriting work for local companies like Listed Treasures, and other companies across the nation. She writes the blog Wattle, a comedic account of being a woman in her 40s. Jennie received an MFA in Playwriting from The New School for Drama. She is a member of the Dramatist Guild. Jennie lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two kids, 1 dog and a stack of magazines she swears she’s going to go through soon.
